小学六年级的学生经过三年的英语学习,已经在听、说、读、写等方面具备一定的基本能力,大部分学生对英语学习兴趣浓厚,养成了良好的学习习惯,为学习本单元奠定了良好的基础。本单元的话题为情感与情绪(Feelings and moods),是与学生生活紧密相关的话题。随着年龄的增长学生的情感越来越丰富,会有各种不同的情绪。有关情绪、情感类的单词学生在之前学过一部分,且本单元所学的句型正适合学生用于表达自己的情绪,因此学生学起来感觉轻松且有兴趣。在教学过程中适当穿插一些游戏和小组竞争活动更加能大大提高学生的学习积极性和提高教学效果。
多媒体班班通设备、教学PPT、单词卡片、课文录音及课文动画、自制大号相框等。
(一)语言目标:
1.词汇:(1)能听懂、会说、认读、会写新单词afraid, close, tired, difficult, clever, worry, kid.
(2)能听懂、会说、认读词汇和短语monster, still , later on.
2.句型:能听懂“How do you feel?”并能用“I’m (not)… ”在实际情境中表达自己的感受。
(二)应用目标
1.能用“I’m (not)…”在实际情境中表达自己的情感和情绪。
2.能用简单的语句表达产生情感和情绪的原因;
3.能在正确的情境下用英语“Don’t worry。You are still a kid. You’ll be better later on.”来安慰他人。

T: (课件出示超人的图片)Good afternoon, boys and girls. Look!Who is he?
Ss: He is superman!
T: Yes,you are so clever, he is superman! Do you like him? Why?
S1: Yes, I like him, because the superman is very brave...
T: Yes, you are so clever. I like superman too, because he is so brave, he is not afraid of bad things. Look, what did he say?
(课件出示句子课题句子“Unit 7 I’m not afraid!”)
T: (边做动作边用勇敢的语气大声带读)I’m not afraid!
Ss: I’m not afraid.
2. Revision
PPT出示之前学过的关于情绪情感类单词的的图片。以教师问学生快速回答的方式,学生用一个单词说出图片上人物的情感:

Step 2 Presentation
1. New words
教师与学生自由对话,引入新词的学习。
(1) afraid
PPT展示第一个单词的图片,教单词afraid。
T : Boys and girls , please look at the first picture , what’s the girl doing?
Ss :She is watching TV.
T: How does she feel?
Ss: “害怕”
板书“afraid”并带读,小组开火车读read one by one.指名读
(2)tired
T: Hello... How are you?
S: I’m fine, thanks. And you?
T: I’m not very well. I am tired. (出示单词卡片tired,板书并带读新词,practise group by group分组读,指名读.。)I went to bed too late last night.
T: Are you tired today?
S1: Yes. I am tired.
S2: No. I am not tired.
(3)difficult
课件展示一幅孩子正在思考一道难题的图片。
T: What is the boy doing?
S: He is doing her homework.
T: How does he feel? Is he happy?
S1: No, she is sad.
S2: He is angry.
S3: He is tired.
T: Why ? Because his homework is difficult.
(出示单词卡片difficult,板书并带读。注意分音节带读:di- ffi- cult, difficult。分排读practise row by row.the first row.)
(4)Clever
PPT展示clever的图片,板书clever并带读,两人一组读,小老师带读.

① 老师带读,Take out your book,please.Turn to page 34. Unit 7 I’m not afraid.part B, listen to part B carefully .read after it for twice(齐读). Can you read them?
② Play a game —Magic eyes.学生看屏幕,把每个单词齐读两遍,然后快速找出屏幕中哪个单词消失了,并大声地把消失的单词读出来
3.① 展示一个怪兽的图片,教学单词monster。
② 句型学习:How do you feel?(你有什么感觉?)
I’m afraid. (我害怕。)或者I’m not afraid. (我不害怕。)
Step 3 Practise
① 句型操练:what are you afraid of?(你害怕什么?)
I'm afraid of tigers/monsters/lions. 学生根据图片提示进行操练
I'm not afraid of cats/rabbits/dogs. 学生分小组操练,一问一答
②理解问句How does he/she feel?的意思,并用He/She is afraid/tired/clever…做出回答,小组内以问答方式进行操练。
③ Games ——I like taking photos! 我是自拍达人!在规定时间30秒内做出各种不同的表情,数量最多者获胜。要求边做表情边大声用英语说出表情,
如:“I’m.../ I'm not...”。
Step 4 The dialogue
1. Listen and watch the video. 整体感知课文。
2. Listen the dialogue sentence by sentence and read after it.跟录音朗读课文,模仿正确的语音、语调。在听的过程中穿插讲解知识点,例如difficulty与difficult的区别。
3.魔眼游戏。
教师展示课件并朗读黑色字体部分,读到由蓝色方框遮住的地方停顿,由学生举手继续读出,看看谁能猜得对。
4. Read the dialogue freely.自由朗读课文,培养学生的朗读能力。
Step 5. Consolidation
1. Let’s chant.拍手跟读,齐读。
2. 超级模仿秀(仿照例句写句子)。巩固句型,锻炼学生的书写能力。
Step 6. Summary
1. Today, We learned Unit 7 I’m not afraid. Let’s read these words: afraid, tired, difficult, clever, monster, worry, kid, better and the sentences “How do you feel? I’m tired/… Or I’m not afraid/…”
2. At last,homework:
① Copy the new words.Recite the words and read part A after class .
