    学情分析

    Project是本单元的最后一个部分。通过对前面的内容的学习,学生们对世界最有名的电影节和电影的种类有了一定了解,对于与电影相关的知识有了一定的知识储备。本堂课重点是通过对文章的阅读,了解影评的写作方法,提高他们对电影的鉴赏力,而这一点恰恰是大多数学生有明显欠缺的地方。


    教学工具

    multi-media,chalk, blackboard, electronic white board, a cellphone.

    教学设计

    教学目标

    1. To help students know how to write a film review well.

    2. To improve students' ability of reading by reading, group-working and discussing.

    3. To help students know how to enjoy films to live a better life.

    教学重难点

    How to understand the structure and the main idea of the passage well.

    How to analyse and enjoy films.

    How to help students write a film review well.

    教学方法

    1. Task-based training method  to improve the students' ability to get the detailed information.

    2. Group work to get the general idea of the passage.

    3. Task-based discussion to help students know how to write a film review well.

    4. Pair and group work to make every student work in class.


    教学过程

    1.To arouse students' interest in the topic, show some pictures of different kinds of films and ask students: 

       If there’re so many films for you to choose from at the same time, which one will you choose? What can help you?

        Answer: With the help of the film review.

       Every time a new film comes out, newspapers, magazines and websites all send a writer or reporter to write a review of this film.

    2.Have students enjoy a period of the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and ask:

    (Click the picture which is linked to the film ) 

       Do you like the film?

       What do you think of the film?

       Have students give different ideas and draw a conclusion.

    3.Show some pictures to introduce the writer ,the main character, and the director to the students to give them 

       some relevant information.

    4.Have students think and answer:

      What is a good film review?

      How can we write a film review well?

    (This part can guide students to think and talk about the ways of writing a film review well to prepare for the following work.)


     



    . Have students read the passage carefully and do some exercises to know the passage well.   

    1. What kind of boy is Harry? 

        A. Harry is an ordinary boy and he is unknown to the magic world.

        B.Harry possesses the magic power of a wizard but he is unknown to the magic world.

        C.Harry is an ordinary boy but he is famous all over the magic world.

        D.Harry possesses the magic power of a wizard and he is famous all over the magic world .

    2. Hagrid is an important person in Harry Portter’s  life because_______.

        A. he brought him up after Harry Porter’s parents died

        B. he killed Harry Porter’s parents

        C. he is a small man working in Hagwarts- a special school

        D. He rescues Harry from the Dursley and takes him to the magic school.

    3. Harry Portter and his friends have a battle with Voldemort in order to ____.

         A. protect themselves   

         B. save the magic world as well as themselves

    Ask students to work in groups to finish the following tasks:

       1. How many parts or sections can we divide the text into?

       2. What is the main idea of each part?

    Have some students give the answers and the reasons for their answers.

    Draw a conclusion of the proper answers.

       Proper answers:

      (Paragraphs 1~3)    brief introduction of the film’s plot

      (Paragraphs 4~5)    the writer’s commentary on the special effects and acting in the film

      (Paragraphs 6-7)     complaints about of the film

      (Paragraph 8)         the recommendation of the writer


    (This part is designed to train students' ability of getting the main idea of a passage correctly and quickly.)

     




    Have students discuss in groups about the following questions to get to know what a good film review is and how to write a film review well.

       1. Do you think the film review is good?

       2. Why do you think so?

       3. How can we write a film review well?

    Have students work in  groups to draw a conclusion of the way to write a film review well at last.

      Firstly, the main plot of the film should be introduced briefly.

      Secondly, the writer's opinion about the film will be given.

      Thirdly, the main points of other audience should be concluded.

      Lastly, the writer's recommendation is given.

    Remember: A film review is usually written in the present tense.


    (This part is designed to help students get the right way to write the film review well.And during the discussion and competition students get to know the importance of cooperation and active thinking.)



     


    Have students rewrite the film review in the class.

    You and your group are now going to rewrite the film review with 100-120 words. You can change the content of the passage properly.

    (Show some of the examples to other students, using a cellphone connected to the white board, and analyse them.)

    The teacher shows a good wring sample and helps students draw a conclusion of how to do well in the writing at last.

    (This part is to train students to gain the ability to write a film review quickly and well and the teacher guides them in the class.)


     


    Revise the passage by reading it again and again and finish the film review.

    Share your review with others and discuss with them about it.
