本节课是人教版九年级上Unit2 I think that mooncakes are delicious! Secction A Period II 3a-3c 内容。本单元介绍、学习国内外不同的节日，文化气息浓郁，教学内容丰富。Section A 侧重介绍我国胡传统节日，功能句式that, if/whether 引导胡宾语从句表达自己的看法和态度，以及how 和what 引导的感叹句。本节课是在学习功能句和了解端午节、泼水节等几个节日的基础之上，进一步学习和了解有关中秋节来历的故事及中秋节的精神内涵。通过本节课的学习，让学生懂得亲情的重要性，珍惜亲情，善于表达自己对家人的爱，同时，也让学生懂得如何运用英语介绍中国的节日文化，学会沟通与交流，进而提高跨文化交际意识。
对于九年级学生来说，大多数学生已经养成了良好的学习习惯，有了一定的词汇量，掌握了一些阅读技巧。他们乐于学习有关中国的传统文化，也掌握了一些英、美国家日常生活中的不同传统习俗。本课介绍、学习我国的传统节日、风俗习惯、庆祝方式等，文本内容是学生熟悉的神话故事。在阅读过程中能较好地根据自己的知识认知进行词义、语义猜测，从而扫清语言障碍，获得阅读的自信，而且传统节日是孩子们感兴趣的话题，他们善于表达，敢于合作和创新。结合学生的特点，基于教材，活用教材，开发教材，我们对这节课做了大胆地设计。在略读、细读之后，让学生有感情地朗读故事，继而小组合作接龙讲故事、复述故事。最后通过诗歌欣赏，使情感得到了升华，使孩子们懂得亲情的重要。
