    学情分析

    文本是一篇拓展阅读,“Don't judge a book by its cover",分成两部分来讨论,一个是青少年对于自己外表负面评价的来源,一个是如何去处理这种负面的评价,本堂课的目标在与帮助学生树立一个正确的审美观,以及教会学生如何去处理这些负面的评价

    教学工具

    我班学生刚进高中,对于高中生活感到新鲜又茫然,对于英语科目的学习似乎也茫然无措。高中英语学习相较于初中难度大了很多,初中学习侧重于单句句型的操练,而高中英语学习侧重于听说读写的综合能力。我们学生多为农村留守儿童,英语基础较弱对于英语学习缺乏兴趣,这篇文本对于他们有一定的难度

    教学目标

    1. Read for the causes of teens’ negative thoughts about their appearances and ways of dealing

       with them.

    2. Understand what the real beauty is

    3. Help Ss know how to deal with those negative thoughts

    1. Where do teenager's negative thoughts on their physical appearance come from?

    Lead in with a pic of Lizz shown

    T: Do you know the girl?

      Do you want to make friends with her?

    No?You don’t even know her name , her personality,her achievement.You have just judged a book by its cover.

    ask students:

     Though Lizz is named as the ugliest girl in the world,she is a talanted writer who uses her story to encourage others to get through difficulties, an inspirational speaker inspiring others to fight against prejudice and discrimination, a hero promoting the establishment of law of anti-bully. Lizz don’t let others comments define her.Instead, she uses the love from her parents, her confidence,her bravery make a new definiton about beauty.Since the negative thoughts about our appearances us all the time,what should we do?

    Task 4 Read paragraph4-6 and answer the following questions

    1. How can you deal with those negative thoughts according to the passage?

    Summary: After listening to your thoughts, I also want to share mine.

     With a video shown about Teacher’s way of dealing with negative thoughts.Just like a book,the content is more important than its cover,so our beauty lies in our inside world.Just as an old Chinese goes “人不可貌相,海水不可斗量”

     

     (Homework)Think of some chinese sayings and write an article about dealing with negative thoughts about our own appearances
