二、教材结构与体系
本节课是第三单元的第一课时,elephant / monkey/tiger/bird/mouse/cat这些动物在三年级已经学习过，从Look at ….句型介绍动物到用It`s strong等形容词描述动物，水到渠成，顺理成章，这节内容要求学生掌握动物称呼后，会用相应的形容词描述动物，下节课和整个单元的学习做好铺垫。对以后形容词用法的学习也起非常重要的作用。
三、单元知识及技能目标
本节内容为Unit 3 Look at this elephant.第一课时，其知识及技能目标为；1.能用形容词描述动物。2.能用英语说出动物的名称。3.热爱动物，保护动物，培养生态平衡意识。
四年级学生通过一年的学习对英语有了初步的认识，已经学会了一些简单的句子同身边的人打招呼、问好，学会表达身边的一些常见物，也学会了规范书写字母和单词，对英语有一定的兴趣。本班学生一共39人，男生21人，女生18人，大部分都是农村留守儿童，跟着爷爷奶奶，外公外婆，老人也不会使用智能机，没有一个良好的语言学习环境，大部分学生学习英语比较困难。见识也很浅薄。而且这个年龄的学生活泼好动，好奇好学，自制力差，怕羞，不愿开口。这批学生基础也比较薄弱，上期期末考试合格率73.71%，优秀率51.22%，相对于城镇学生还有很大的进步空间。虽然是接手班，但是经过两个星期的接触发现这是一群非常活泼好学的孩子，每次课堂氛围非常活跃。喜欢英语课堂，学习积极性很高。经过一年的学习，大部分学生对英语仍然保持着浓厚的兴趣，但有少部分学生由于从单词过渡到句子，对话过渡到短文，难度有所加大，学习兴趣开始减退。因此在本学期的教学中，应以学生发展为宗旨，在激发学生学习兴趣的同时，时刻关注每一位学生的学习动态。在教授知识的时候适当增加课堂活动，高效完成教学任务的同时提高学生的学习兴趣，教学内容也要循序渐进，由易到难。本期主要培养学生的听说读写能力，课堂增加自然拼读法，加强学生自主拼读和拼写能力。四年级刚刚接触阅读和连词成句，要重视阅读能力和写作能力的培养。重视英语作为语言的交际能力。
教学措施：
1，课堂尽量全英式教学，给学生构造良好的语言环境。
2、科学合理的把单词，对话的操练合为一体，做好巩固。教学中开展多种多样的教学活动，游戏，比赛，唱歌， 表演。不仅可以活跃气氛，也可以激发学生兴趣爱好，培养学生学习英语的主动性和积极性。
3，因材施教，让优生带差生，充分利用课间休息时间和午自习时间培优补薄，让学生养成良好的学习习惯。
