    学情分析

    本课选自2019年新版牛津译林教材必修一第二单元Welcome to the unit,教学的主要内容是一首关于母爱的诗歌。本课旨在通过这首描述小鸟妈妈对小鸟宝宝深沉的爱的诗歌,进行一次与诗歌游子吟的对比阅读和一次对亲子关系的探索之旅通过诵读歌颂母爱的英语诗歌,感受其节奏与韵律,从中体会父母养育子女的不易,体恤父母,与父母和谐相处。

    教学工具

    1. 高一年级的学生已经具备一定的英语语言基础,乐于表达自己,对周围的人与事充满好奇,但又处于对自我的探索和怀疑中

    2. 同时,处于青春期的高一年级的学生很容易叛逆,和父母的亲子关系动辄就处于紧张状态,因此借助本课引导学生重视亲子关系并学会正确处理和父母的关系显得尤为重要。

    教学设计

    教学目标

    语言知识目标:

    1、词汇知识:nest, long to do sth., full-grown;

    2、语音知识:通过诵读歌颂母爱的英文诗歌,感受其节奏与韵律,从中体会父母养育子女的不易。

    语言技能目标:

    能清楚地描述与父母相处的经历与感受,表达对父母之爱的理解。

    情感态度目标:

    激发学生对父母与子女之间关系的认知与思考,体恤父母,关爱父母,学会正确处理与父母之间的关系。



    教学重难点

    教学重点:

    1、读懂诗歌,体会诗歌的情感;

    2、对比阅读Mum loves you和Song of the parting son这两首诗歌;

    3、正确认识和父母之间存在的问题并寻找解决方案。

    教学难点:

    诵读诗歌时对韵律和节奏的把握以及对诗歌情感的领悟。

    教学过程

    Step 1 Lead-in (导入)

    T: Good ..., boys and girls!

    How are you feeling these days? I am feeling a little bit anxious for my 11-year-old boy. So I read some books to make myself calm. Here is one of my favorite books. In this book, the writer Martin tells us how to find happiness.

    Do you know what the five elements of happiness are? Let me show you!

    No. 1 Positive emotion

    No. 2 Engagement

    No. 3 Relationships

    No. 4 Meaning

    No. 5 Accomplishment

    This period, we'll talk about relationships. As teens, the parent-child relationship is the most important. When we are children, we enjoy parents' unconditional and deep love. Though, we suffer growing pains as teens. Finally, we will understand the truth of love when we grow adults.

    T: Now, let's follow Bao to experience deep love from Mom.

    After watching the video, how do you feel?

    Invite two or three students to express their feelings.

    I really agree with you. And I have the feeling that to the world you may be one person, but to your mom you may be the world. Do you agree?



    Step 2 Poem appreciation(诗歌赏析)

    T: Now, we will enjoy some poems. I'll divide you into ... groups. Let's see which group get the most love seeds.

    Please open your books and turn to Page 15. Here is a poem about a mother bird and her baby. First, let's come to the new words and phrases.  

    nest / long to do sth. / full-grown (板书在黑板上)

    Now, scan the poem and get the theme.

    Who can tell us?

    This is an acrostic poem, so the theme is the first letter of each line, that is, Mum loves you.

    Next, let's come to the writing forms of the poem. Read it again and find out the rhymes.

    How many groups of rhymes are there? What are they?

    There are five groups.    

    there-care; nest-best; day-away; grown-alone;fly-sky-eye.

    According to the mother bird's feelings, this poem can be divided into three parts. Listen to the tape and divide it.

    From Line 1 to Line 4 is the 1st part.

    From Line 5 to Line 8 is the 2nd part.

    The rest is the third part.

    Let's read the first part emotionally together. Morning and night....Ready? Go!

    What is this part about?

    How the mother bird raises up her baby.

    Who'd like to read the second part for us?

    How does the mother bird feel?

    The mother bird worries that the baby will fly away.

    I want a lucky guy to read the third part for us. (自动点名程序)

    In the third part, the mother bird understands she must give her baby freedom and independence. However, she will always be there for her baby.

    Are you touched by mother bird's love?

    Invite two students to express their opinions.



    Step 3 Problems sharing(分享问题)

    T: Are children always happy with their parentsprotective love?

       Do parents let their children go easily?

    Bao and his mom will give us answers.

    Quarrels and conflicts happen between teenage Bao and his mom. Why?

    Invite two or three students to express their opinions.

    T: Often, because of worries and high hopes, most parents interfere children's life without caring about their physical changes, mental needs and challenges they face.

    Do you have problems with your parents?

    In English, sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. Why not share your problems with your partners? Stop now! Who'd like to speak out your problems?

    Encourage students to express their problems as much as possible.

    Problems make teens and parents become strangers. Sharing them is the first step.

    Maybe another way to solve the problems is to understand the truth of love.

    Let's see how Bao and his mom solve their problems.

    Bao and his mom find the truth of love.

    With empathy, communication, patience and love, strange parents and children become close again.After class, you can have a patient communication with your parents to improve your relationships.


    Step 4 Comparison reading(对比阅读)

    Let's understand the truth of love further by reading the famous poem, Song of the Parting Son.

    A game for you. Choose a letter from LOVE.

    Which letter? Task 1/2/3/4 (用触发器设置的关于诗歌作者、主题和翻译练习题)



    T: Let's enjoy the poem together. First, read the new words after me. Now, read together.

                           Song of the Parting Son

                   A thread in one hand of the loving mother,

                   A dress of the parting son in the other.

                   She sews stitch by stitch: his departure's near,

                   For fear that he won't be home in many a year.

                   Who can tell, how much should the son impart,

                   To well reward the loving mother's heart?

    From this poem, what do you get?

    Invite two or three students to express their opinions.

    T: I'm really glad to see you have a good understanding of mom’s love. And I received a moving story from my best friend. Could you please enjoy it together with me? What a great mother! However, I wish every mom and baby safe and sound every day. Great things show parentslove. Simple things such as hot and delicious meals, clean and tidy clothes are also true love. I believe you must have thought of your mom. How about doing something for her? What do you want to do for your mom?


    Step 5 Group work (小组活动) 

    T: Please work in groups and do a thing for moms.

    Encourage students to show their groupwork.

    T: As a mom, I was deeply moved by what you did for your moms. Let’s see which group get the most love seeds. The ... group, congratulations! I believe these love seeds will grow big love trees one day.



    Step 6 Summary and homework (课堂小结与家庭作业)

    Boys and girls, love is a magic word. If we are loyal, observant, valiant and eager, we must become persons full of love.


    T: With love, a family must be warm and happy!

    With love, our motherland must be harmonious (和谐的) and strong!

    T: Your homework today, do something to show love to your parents and recite the poem: Mum loves you.

    Class is over, goodbye, everyone!
