本课是人教版八年级上册第四单元SectionB的阅读部分，在第三单元学习了比较级的基础上，学生将学习并运用最高级，用最高级来对人或事物进行评价。本文为议论文，通过三个方面描述当前Talent Show的现状并引出作者的想法，话题贴近学生生活，内容可引导学生了解并正确看待Talent Show。
八年级的学生，已经稍微接触过比较级，本单元Section A学习了最高级，语言方面没有难度。但八年级学生还未训练过阅读策略，只能通过情境猜测出词义以及推测出陌生句子的意义。在本课的阅读过程中，可通过一系列任务和活动训练学生阅读能力，提升思维品质。
教学目标：
1. 语言知识目标：
1) 能理解并简单运用以下词和词组：talent, common, all kinds of, beautifully, role, winner, prize, everybody, make up, example, for example, poor, seriously, give
2) 能理解并简单运用以下句型：
