    学情分析

    新版译林牛津高中英语必修一包括四个单元,内容涵盖高中校园生活、青少年家庭关系、人际交流关系以及外貌形象四个方面,每个单元包涵welcome, reading, grammar and usage, integrated skill, extended reading, project, assessment, further study等八个板块,通过不同板块让学生快速了解适应高中生活,在学习中培养学生的学习能力、文化意识、思维品质和语言技能。本节课选自第二单元Let's talk teens,主要探讨青少年在成长过程中与父母的关系问题,涉及到听力理解、语言运用、语法探索、阅读理解以及写作实践等学习方式。本节课节选自extended reading板块,属于延伸阅读理解内容,除了要求掌握最基本的语言表达外,文本将通过阅读材料的理解去感受东西方文化差异及思维方式的不同,通过解读文本去培养学生的学习能力和思维品质。本节课阅读材料改编自原汁原味的美国小说Mama's bank account的文章,详述了一个移民家庭在面对家庭经济困境时处理方法,展现了一家人的团结互助的品质和美国的家庭文化

    教学工具

    2020年是译林牛津高中英语改版的第一年,恰逢湘西自治州民族中学招生改革,从自治州各个县市定点招生,生源参差不齐。本节课选择湖南省湘西自治州民族中学新入学高一年级2018班学生,处于初高中衔接阶段,语言基础较为薄弱,词汇量小理解力弱,一篇文章的阅读需要反复的听力与读记进行理解,但是刚进入高一年级的学生处在学习能力和学习习惯养成的培养阶段老师可以通过一节课程去培养学生该类型材料的学习能力和思维方式,为以后的学习打好基础框架。

    教学设计

    教学目标

    通过本节课的学习,学生

    语言技能:能掌握并运语篇中的新单词表达方如grocery, operation, check, emergency, bank account等通过听力和阅读理解语篇内容及所表达的意义;能在阅读理解语篇后用自己的语言重新复述整个故事

    文化意识:能通过中西方家庭文化的差异培养学生的跨文化意识;能对对Kathrin的家庭成员性格产生自己的文化理解;

    思维品质:能分析文章的结构以及人物关系性格;能以批判的眼光看待妈妈银行账户这一事件分析语言背后的深层含义

    学习能力:能学会如何去阅读记叙类语篇,提取文章细节;能学会分析文章结构,提炼语篇主题;能通过任务阅读和合作探究的方式深入理解文章。

    教学过程

    Part 1 Lead-in

    Q1: Do you have any pocket money?

    Q2: What do you often do with it?

    Q3: If you haven't spent up your pocket money, will you put it into your own pocket or a bank?

    Part 2 Word attack

    A: show students four pictures and ask students to figure them out.

        grocery, pipe, operation, check

    B: Match the words with the correct meaning

        rent, secure, eagerly, draw, whatever

    C: Choose synonyms of following words

        emergency, figure, lap

    D: Fill in blanks with proper phrases

        bank account, count out, grammar school

    Part 3 Further reading

     A: Scanning. Go through it quickly and find out key elements in the story.

                Place: kitchen table 

    Main characters: Mama, Papa, Nels, Christine, Kathrin, Dagmar

    B: Listening. Capture detailed information to finish the task.

    There are three questions for students. Have a discussion or debate.

    yes: a sense of secure(not afraid of no money and can work hard to get what they want)

    no: be honest; have the right to know the truth; there is an emergency

    Q2: Do you think Papa know the truth? Why?

    yes: give up smoking; not want to go to bank; earned all their money

    no: save money; work hard day and night

    Q3: Do you think the "Bnak Account" will happen in China? Why?

    yes: children in remote areas; the quality of united and devotion, helping others

    no: governments' help to get rid of poverty

    Part 5 Homework

    Write a story of you and  your parents that impressed you most within 150 words.
