    学情分析

    本节课取自9年级第9单元I like music that I can dance to中的语法部分

    其主要内容是讲述定语从句

    本节课是基于学生在学习了定语从句后帮助学生进一步区分who,which和that引导的定语从句

    教学工具

    学生在初一初二和初三的教材中已经接触过一些定语从句,但是没有系统地学习过定语从句。

    初三通过9单元的学习对定语从句有初步的了解,但是不能正确使用which和who引导的定语从句。

    初三学生整体英语水平一般,两极分化比较严重。基础差的学生学习兴趣不高,优生课堂积极性不太高,比较沉默。

    大部分学生语法基础不扎实,欠缺良好的学习方法。


    教学设计

    教学目标

    1. 学生能初步了解什么是定语从句,定语从句的基本结构并区分who,which,that引导的定语从句

    2. 学生能够正确运用who, which和that引导的定语从句,并做用含有定语从句的句子简单的做自我介绍。

    3. 学生能够正确对待自己和同学的兴趣爱好,对音乐家,电影和书籍能够有正确的认识和选择

    教学重难点

    教学重点:学生能够掌握who,which和that 引导的定语从句

    教学难点:学生能够区分who,which和that引导的定语从句

                     学生能够灵活运用who,which和that引导的定语从句来表达自己的爱好

    教学方法

                先行词   关系代词   定语从句

     I am a mother that/who has two kids.

     I am a teacher that/who teaches English.

     I like music that/which I can sing along with.

     I love books that/which give me something to think about.

                             

    教学过程

        Watch a video (In this video, students can hear a song that includes many attributive clauses)

        Read the sentences below, and tell the teacher what kind of sentences are they?

           The days (that) we had.

           The songs (that) we sang together.

           You are the one who set it up.

           I’m the one who’s feeling lost right now.

           I was the woman (that/who)you dreamed about.


        1. About me

            The teacher use relative clauses to introduce herself.

                    I am a mother who has two kids.

                    I am a woman who comes from Changsha.

                    I am a teacher who teaches English.

            Ask Ss to use relative clauses to introduce themselves.

                     I’m a student who ...

                     I’m a boy/girl who ...


        2. About my hobbies

            The teacher use relative clauses to introduce her hobbies.

                    I like music which I can sing along with. (Play a music to make students have a better understanging of "sing along with")

                    I prefer movies which can make me laugh.

                    I love books which give me something to think about.

             Ask Ss to use relative clauses to introduce themselves.

                    I like music which...

                    I prefer movies which...

                    I love books which...

                    I enjoy stories which...



        Ask Ss to discuss in groups to find out the rules in the chart:

          

             We use attributive clauses to describe nouns.

             We use clauses with who to describe people.

             We use clauses with which to describe objects.

       1. Combine the two sentence into one .  

         First show an example:

            1. I prefer movies.  

            2. Movies can make me relaxed. 

            I prefer movies which/that can make me relaxed.

        2. Guide students to combine two sentences into one:

             Use which or who to replace the nouns that are described.

        3. Then ask students to combine the sentences into one:      

            I love music.

            The music has beautiful lyrics.

            The actors act well.

            I love singers.

           The singers writer their own songs.

            __________________________________________________________

            I like stories.

            The stories give me something to think about.

       Write a self-introduction:

            I love my school because I like places which/that ...

            I love my teachers because I love teachers who/that ...

            My favorite song/movie is ... because I like songs/movies which/that ... 

            It was sung/acted by ... 

            I like musicians/actors who/that ...

            Whatever you do, don’t miss it.

       (Use the camera to take pictures of students' short writing and upload on the big screen, in this way, students can learn from each other.)

        Write a shor passage about the information and hobbies of your classmates
