    学情分析

    本单元话题为“环球旅行”,语篇是两篇旅行日记。本课节选其中一篇。旅行是了解各国文化的一种方式。旅行日记记录的是作者亲历巴西里约狂欢节的过程,描绘了狂欢节的盛况。从旅行者的视角介绍了解巴西里约狂欢节的盛大场面。通过介绍巴西里约狂欢节,让学生对于巴西的风土人情有更深入的理解。通过让学生感受异域风情、了解异域文化,有效的提高他们的文化意识,提高他们的跨文化交际能力、具备国际视野、增强文化自信。

    教学工具

    学生整体较活泼,开朗。除极少数学生基础较好外,大部分学生英语基础薄弱,词汇量少,语法概念模糊。整体来看,学生基本能用英语提取信息,处理信息,并能简单交流、表达自己的观点,但运用完整句子描述事件,阐述意义的能力较薄弱。我们争取让他们在英语知识上取得进步,并能得到情感上的升华。

    教学目标

    By the end of this section,students will be able to:

    1. talk about some festivals and customs they know;

    2. know the grand occasion of the Rio Carnival;

    3. explore cultural values behind those customs;

    4. develop a tolerant and respectful attitude towards different cultures and the ability of cross-cultural communication;

    5. Get a basic understanding of the knowledge of "none-finite verbs as adverbials".

    教学重难点

    一、Teaching key point:

    1. Know the grand occasion of the Rio Carnival;

    2. Get a basic understanding of the knowledge of "none-finite verbs as adverbials";

    二、Teaching difficult point:

    1. talk about some festivals and customs they know;

    2. develop a tolerant and respectful attitude towards different cultures and the ability of cross-cultural communication.

    3. explore cultural values behind those customs.

    Lead-in

          1.With the application of the app Wenjuanxing,a survey was conducted about how students know about festivals and customs around the globe,and the results will direct into our topic.

          2. On a world map, teacher introduces that Alex is visiting the USA,for another country.

    3In the second picture, with the map and features of the country, teacher asks students which one it is.

    4. Video: about the Rio de Janeiro Carnival.

     

    Step 1: Reading for understanding, the Rio Carnival.Give comments on student's answers using Banji youhua dashi.

    1. Before reading, let students think of the answer to: “what is the spirit of the Rio Carnival?”

    2. Ask students to skim & scan, for the question of: What is the passage mainly about? 

    3.Project students' worksheets on the screen with Seewoo and check for errors.

     

    Step 2: Detailed reading

    1. Have students read the passage carefully and find out the detailed information. 

    2. check the detailed information on the screen .

     

    Step 3: Mind map analysis


    Step 4:Timed exercise: students can prepare for 1 minute before giving the presentation.

     

    Step 5: Ask the students to retell the travel log based on the mind map 


    Step 6: Give a micro-lesson that explains the rule of non-finite verbs as adverbials.

     

    Step 7: Theme elevation: “What's unique for a nation is also precious for the world.”

     



    1.With the application of the app Wenjuanxing,a survey was conducted  about how students know about festivals and customs around the globe,and the results will direct into our topic.使用问卷星调查全世界范围内学生对节日习俗的了解导入到本单元话题。

    2.Give comments on student's answers using Banji youhua dashi.全堂课使用优化大师软件对学生进行点评。

    3.Project students' work sheets on the screen with Seewoo and check for errors.使用希沃授课助手投屏学生的学案,并进行检查。

    4.Timed exercise:students can prepare for 1 minute before giving the presentation.添加计时器,一分钟限时训练,学生讨论后展示。

    5.Give a micro-lesson that explains the rule of non-finite verbs as adverbials.插入微课视频,对非谓语动词做状语进行解说。
